Average review score:

This book makes good sense--AMAZING!
Doctor Cherry's approach to preventive medicine, through balanced nutrition and exercise makes alot of sense. His Christo-centric approach to caring for one's total health, physical, spiritual, and emotional is certainly refreshing. His research on the nutritional portions of this book is profound, easy to understand, and even easier to follow. This book is well worth the money! And your doctor will love you for it!

The Doctor and the Word: Discover God's Pathway to Healing for You and Your Family
Published in Paperback by Siloam Press (August, 1997)
Author: Reginald B. Cherry
Average review score:

An excellent book for all christian doctors.
All through the years of my practising as a GP doctor and a christian as well, I could not reconcile the fact that one is based on scientific facts and the other on the supernatural healing. We were taught in med. school to be objective and block out all emotions and concentrate on curing the symptoms. Recently we are more aware that treating the body only is not enough. Treating the mind is equally important. The mind and the body is inseparable and that is why holistic med. is advocated. Where does the doctor come in when illnesses like 4th stage cancer can be cured by supernatural means like prayer and faith? Miracles happen all the time and could not be explained by any scientific means logically. Our body is indeed fearfully and wonderfully made. But if all illnesses can be cured by supernatural means then there wouldn't be any use of doctors. That is why Dr. Reginald Cherry's explanation of God's different pathway of healing for different individuals does make sense. The best part is that he is not just saying it but doing it as well and getting a lot of healing done. Praise the Lord.

El gran capoquero: Un cuento de la selva amaz¢nica

Authors: Lynne Cherry and Alma Flor Ada

Looking with new eyes
A woodman begins to chop down a huge tree in the Amazon jungle but, the wood is very hard. The heat of the day and the lull of the insects put him to sleep. In his dreams he is visited by the animals, a child, and insects of the forest who explain their interdependency and the importance of the Amazon. They ask him to look at them with new eyes, with new understanding. When he awakens from his dream, he picks up his axe to resume his labor, looks at the animals and a child, pauses, puts down his axe, and leaves. Beautifully told. Wonderful illustrations.

Essentials of Paramedic Care
Published in Hardcover by Prentice Hall (02 May, 2002)
Authors: Bryan E. Bledsoe, Robert S. Porter, and Richard A. Cherry
Average review score:

Paramedic Bible!
I'm one week away from my paramedic exam. This book has been my bible. It covers every aspect of paramedic care from just about every angle. It flows well and is not drab or dry like other text books. It's a huge book (2,000 pages), but there are 48 chapters. The chapters are easy to read and to draw information from. Each chapter contains objectives with page references, quick review content highlites on the edges of each page along with key terms and points. It has never been so easy to find definitions, referances and main content substance from a textbook.
It has beautiful illustrations, pictures from real medic calls and step-by-step diagramed charts with photographs demonstrating the procedures.
My favorite part of this text is the matching web site where you can take an on-line quiz for each chapter. This has been a great study tool.
The book is big, heavy and rather difficult to carry around, but it's basically the "World Book Encyclopedia of Paramedicine" wrapped up into one big book. A bit pricy, but worth the cost. Highly recommended. I wouldn't trade mine for the world.

A Rarity: a book that truly earns the highest praise
Ms. Cherry's *Exiled Heart* deserves any accolade one can muster: moving, extraordinary, strikingly intelligent, and--yes--heartbreaking. Ms. Cherry's meditations upon fate's intrusions into love are a balance of braininess and passion.
